Strong Communities

Michelle LaVoy talks with voters downtown

“Every time I fill up at the pump, I feel the pain of the increased gas tax brought to us by politicians in Lansing. More taxes on working families and higher registration fees were supposed to fix our roads, but it feels like the roads haven’t gotten any better.

Safe roads are a critical part of strong communities, which have been the focus of my life as the elected Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Monroe and longtime community volunteer.” —Michelle

  • Fix our roads by raising inspection standards, using higher quality material, and ensuring the job is done right the first time.
  • Protect our waterways by funding efforts to preserve Monroe River Raisin and clean up Lake Erie.
  • Give our police and fire the resources they need to keep us safe by increasing revenue sharing to local communities.
  • Ensure access to clean and safe drinking water.
